Get Started with Eventbrite

General

  • New accounts can be created by OEC
  • Pre-existing Eventbrite account holders must cancel their account before OEC creates one under JSOE
  • For every new event created by a subuser, OEC must manually add other subusers to manage the event

Login

  • On the Select Organization page, click Jacobs School JSOE
  • To verify or switch to the correct organization:
    • Click the gear icon on the left panel
    • You will be redirected to the Organization Settings page
    • Click Switch organization (blue text to the right of the page title)
    • Select Jacobs School JSOE

Setup

Event

  • Review Refund Details (unable to edit after publishing an event live)
  • Event date setup (single or multiple days)
  • OEC has a list of organizer profiles for each department and group under JSOE
  • Add a banner image
  • Set up your contact email for the event:
    • Click Order Options to expand the section
    • Click Order Confirmation to open the right panel
    • Scroll down to Customize Email
    • Delete eventbrite@ucsd.edu and input the email address to direct response emails to
  • To change the Organizer Profile:
    • Click Publish
    • Scroll down and select one of the preset groups

Financial

  • Eventbrite payments are processed through Authorize.net
  • Authorize.net supports international payments
  • Eventbrite automatically applies a 2.5% fee on tickets
  • The JSOE Fiscal Team allocate payments to the correct departments or fiscal managers
  • Any questions should be directed to the JSOE Fiscal Team before or after the event is live
